Zlatko Bourek – Virtual Theater
The project Zlatko Bourek – Virtual Theatre presents new cultural online content which enables the presentation of the work of Croatian artist Zlatko Bourek (Požega, 1929 – Zagreb, 2018) – sculptor, painter, director, set designer, costume designer, puppet maker, animator and filmmaker. This virtual platform aims to encompass and shed light on Bourek’s work in the fields of fine art (painting, sculpture, graphic art, illustration), theatre (direction, set and costume design, puppet design), animated and feature film (Zagreb School of Animated Films, Professor Balthazar animated series, etc.).
This project has been conceived and is led by Bourek’s daughter, painter and costume designer Barbara Bourek, and driven by the desire to one day present Bourek’s extensive oeuvre in the form of a permanent museum collection.
